Whether training, retraining or further education and training - education has been at the centre of our activities for over 40 years. The Heimerer schools include almost 40 vocational schools and technical colleges and, from 2017 to 2020, a vocational academy.
At the Heimerer Academy, we have been successfully organisingfurther education and training courses with our practice partners, at our premises and as in-house training courses for over 20 years.

History
1980
Landsberg
Friedrich Heimerer founds the vocational training institute Heimerer GmbH Landsberg am Lech. Commercial courses follow, e.g. steno accountant, certified secretary, tax assistant.

1991
Leipzig, Döbeln, Oschatz
June. Sozialpflegeschulen Heimerer GmbH is notarised. The first retraining classes for geriatric care and physiotherapy start in the former KIROW villa in Karl-Heine-Straße Leipzig. A branch is opened in nearby Borna. August. New locations in Döbeln and Oschatz.

1994
Zwickau, Schongau
March. In Zwickau, Heimerer starts a retraining class for curative education nurses on the premises of the Thomas Müntzer School. April. A new training centre is opened in Schongau, Karmeliterstraße 4. The new school is integrated into a geriatric care service centre.

2005
Heimerer Foundation
Since 2005, the Heimerer Schools have been working on the basis of a certified quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. The Heimerer Foundation is recognised as a foundation under civil law by the government of Upper Bavaria. The background to this is the desire to secure a permanent and solid basis for the schools in the future.

2009
Heimerer Schools
Heimerer Schulen and the Chinese elderly care association Hetong have concluded a co-operation agreement. The Chinese administration in the service sector is looking for German expertise in geriatric care. They have decided in favour of the "heimerer" brand.

2010
Pristina
The European Education Centre Kolegji-Heimerer is founded in Pristina, Kosovo. August. The Heimerer Lerncafé, the first Heimerer student support centre, opens in Leipzig. September. Agreement to establish an outpatient rehabilitation centre in Muscat (Oman) and parallel planning of a physiotherapy school.
