24 March 2025: A lovingly decorated school building, the smell of fresh waffles and
potato soup in the air - the Heimerer Schulen Leipzig once again became a place of commitment and
togetherness.
Our class of social assistants 39, led by Ms Engelhard, organised a very special fundraising event as part of their project "Support in coping with
everyday life, preparing parties".
The pupils set up various stalls on the floors of the school building, where they offered homemade treats such as biscuits,
waffles, potato salad and soup. Crocheted little things were also on sale. The school provided the ingredients, cooking and baking
was done together - with heart and hand.
What makes this campaign special is that the young people themselves decided who to donate the proceeds to. The children's hospice
Bärenherz children's hospice was delighted to receive half of the proceeds - and thus a donation totalling 370 euros. The other half went to an animal shelter in Leipzig. The donation will help the children's hospice to give seriously ill children and their families a sense of security and
loving companionship.
