The desire to do meaningful work through their chosen profession and to support others is what motivates many young people when choosing their training. Anyone interested can find out what modern, practical training in social, therapeutic and care professions looks like at the open day at Heimerer Schools Leipzig.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
On this afternoon, the doors will be open to anyone who sees their professional future in the social, therapeutic or care sectors – or who is simply curious about how training is structured today. Visitors will gain insights into various courses of study, for example in the fields of care, therapy or social work.
Teachers and trainees will be on hand to answer questions and share stories from everyday school life. This will give you an authentic impression of how learning and working are combined at the Heimerer Schools in Leipzig.
Our schools place particular emphasis on practical training. Even during their training, students get to know the various areas in which they will later work and gain valuable practical experience. At the same time, interdisciplinary collaboration plays an important role: students from different disciplines work together and learn from one another during their training – just as they will later do in their everyday working lives.
Another advantage: training at the Heimerer Schools in Leipzig is tuition-free. Furthermore, students benefit from teaching materials being provided free of charge wherever possible, allowing them to concentrate fully on their training.
As well as a look at classrooms and practical training rooms, guests can expect a varied programme featuring hands-on activities, workshops and personal consultations. Refreshments will also be provided.
Anyone keen to meet new people and take the first step towards a meaningful career should definitely make a note of 6 May 2026.
