What makes the nursing assistant training programme in Dresden stand out?
Your lessons take place at the Yenidze, the former tobacco factory at Ostra Sports Park. Every theory classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, which your teachers use to work through and illustrate the subject matter directly during lessons.
The training programme alternates between blocks of classroom learning and practical placements. Before you carry out a nursing procedure in a clinical setting, you will learn how to do it at the college.
Your tutors tailor their support to your level of knowledge.
Practical training, personalised support
You will undertake three compulsory placements: in a hospital, in a care home and with an outpatient care service. As the training programme is designedto be generalist in nature, you will gain an understanding of all three areas of care before deciding where you would like to work in the future.
- Close cooperation with hospitals, care homes and outpatient services in and around Dresden
- Training allowance paid by the organisation providing the practical training
- The college is centrally located, with short journeys by bus and train
FAQ
From 1 January 2027, the Nursing Assistant training programme will replace the Nursing Aide programme in Saxony. This is based on the Nursing Assistant Act. The training programme is regulated uniformly across Germany and is generalist in nature, meaning it prepares you for all areas of nursing. Your qualification is recognised throughout Germany.
