Thanks to its many years of experience in the field of occupational therapy, the vocational school offers you training with a holistic approach. Our school is WFOT-recognised and therefore fulfils the required training standard of the German Association of Occupational Therapists. This means that your qualification is also recognised abroad. Our young and competent team of teachers will teach you the profession of occupational therapist in a practice-orientated way. The occupational therapy training at the Dresden location is characterised by cooperation with the physiotherapy training course . The aim here is to prepare you for interdisciplinary collaboration in your future career. Everyday school life is decisively characterised by the active participation of the students. You also have the opportunity to take part in specialist practical training during your training.

All theory rooms at the vocational college have an interactive whiteboard. in addition, a large workshop offers plenty of space for creative work. The vocational school for occupational therapy is located in the former tobacco factory "Yenidze" in the centre of Dresden and is easily accessible by public transport.

You can work in clinics and hospitals, facilities for the disabled, rehabilitation and geriatric facilities as well as in your own occupational therapy practice. After completing your training as an occupational therapist, you will also have the opportunity to continue your education in your area of interest. The Heimerer Academy offers many further training programmes in areas such as neurology, geriatrics, psychiatry and psychosomatics. If you would like to qualify for managerial positions, you can also train to become a specialist in healthcare and social services, study occupational therapy or curative education!
