Recognition in physiotherapy
Would you like to work in physiotherapy in Germany, but have completed your vocational qualification in another country ? As the content of vocational training can vary greatly internationally , your training must be recognised in Germany.
If there are significant differences between your training and German training, you can compensate for these differences with an adaptation period or a knowledge test. You will receive all the important information about the procedure, the course and the examination in a counselling interview . The consultation will clarify whether an adaptation period or a knowledge test is more suitable for you.
Goals

- Successful participation in an adaptation period to compensate for the content required in the assessment notice
- Recognition of the foreign professional qualification
Target group
The recognition qualification is suitable for all persons with a foreign professional qualification in the field of physiotherapy who wish to work as a specialist in this profession throughout Germany and who have to pass a knowledge test or aptitude test or complete an adaptation period. After a detailed counselling interview , you will receive a confirmation of participation.
Prerequisites
- Assessment notice
- B2 language level reached or almost reached
- Preliminary interview and decision in favour of the knowledge/aptitude test or the adaptation period
Fees
Theory lessons and examination fee depending on the examination requirements set by the government authority (fees, travel and accommodation costs can be reimbursed 100% by the Federal Employment Agency).
Course contents
- Depending on the individual assessment notice, an adaptation course includes e.g:
- Anatomy, physiology
- pathology
- Diagnostic and examination techniques
- Professional and legal knowledge
- Massage therapy
- kinesiology
- Physiotherapeutic treatment techniques
Education voucher
Funding is possible via a training voucher from the job centre or the employment agency (according to SGB II or III), but also via the employer.
Please ask your counsellor or employer about your personal funding options. If you fulfil the requirements, the course fees and any other costs will be covered.
