Training as a social assistant lays the foundation for all care and social professions. In this basic training programme, you will learn to work responsibly with children, young people, people with disabilities and people in need of care. This includes supporting activities in the areas of education and care, but also in housekeeping and leisure activities. You will not only learn what needs people have at different stages of their lives, but also how to deal with them professionally and support them.
As your field of work involves working with children, young people, people with disabilities and people in need of care, you can work in various socio-educational and care facilities such as daycare centres, after-school care centres, hospitals, nursing homes for the elderly, outpatient care services and residential homes.
After completing your training as a social assistant, you will have the entry requirements to complete a specialised technical college training course as an educator or curative educator with us immediately afterwards.
To do this job well, you should enjoy working with people, have a sense of responsibility and be enthusiastic. You should also be empathetic and creative.
