Job description
As a curative education nurse, you will support people of all ages with mental, physical and psychological disabilities. With your educational, therapeutic and nursing work, you will accompany the development, support and life organisation of these people. You can expect a varied range of tasks, with assistance activities in the areas of education, work, living and leisure.
Career prospects
With a qualification as a state-recognised curative education nurse, you can work in a wide variety of facilities. You will accompany and assist people with support needs in residential homes, in outpatient services, in workshops, in integrative or curative day care centres, in curative education support centres and also in recreational educational facilities.
Admission requirements
Social commitment, a humanistic view of humanity, joy and curiosity in working with people of all ages, with and without disabilities, ingenuity, creativity, positivity, acceptance of diversity - these are the basic requirements for training in curative education.
Further formal requirements for the training programme are
- Secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent qualification and
- a recognised vocational qualification relevant to the course
- vocational training of at least two years' duration and proof of relevant socio-educational, curative education or nursing work in a field of work in the specialist area of curative education for at least six weeks.
- relevant professional experience of at least seven years in full-time employment or
- A higher education entrance qualification in the field of health and social services or
- Now new!!! General higher education entrance qualification or entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences in another subject area and proof of relevant socio-educational, curative education or nursing work in a field of work in the specialist area of curative education for at least six weeks.

Training structure
The training is based on the learning field concept. You will attend theoretical lessons and also receive all the knowledge you need to provide targeted support and encouragement to the people you are caring for during your practical training. You will also learn to activate the existing abilities and resources of people with disabilities and to initiate or provide the necessary assistance.
The practical vocational training takes place in recognised internship facilities for people with disabilities. You will have an average of 35 - 40 hours of lessons per week.

We also have instrumental accompaniment, kinaesthetics, SNOEZELEN®, Basal Stimulation®, creative design and others in our programme for you in the compulsory elective area.

Education voucher
Funding via education voucher from the employment agency or job centre (according to SGB II or III), but also possible via pension insurance providers and BFD.
